LVA Animation is unique because it's the only animation major that spends the first year studying techniques of historical animation, from a traditional 2D style that relies heavily on drawing their own characters and fundamentals of the golden era of animation.
Year two focuses on 3D essentials of animation and the pipeline.
The third year focuses on storytelling and creating an animated short from script to post-production.
Additional courses in digital illustration and drawing advance students' abilities to communicate in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator while learning traditional principles of value, form, lighting, and composition.
Two years of Advanced Placement Drawing and 2D Portfolios prepare the students to have all the required pieces for applying to the top animation schools in the nation.
